Ember & Ash Records is a small independent label built around distinct imprints, each with its own sound, world and artists.
The structure
The label does not force Americana, modern R&B, singer-songwriter work, hip-hop, blues and soul into one house style. It builds a specific room for each: Dry River, Velvet Room, Crooked Mile, Long Game and Bottomland.
Architecture can be creative.
The imprint model lets each release arrive with a coherent identity while remaining part of a larger label system. That is the same systems instinct found elsewhere in Tod’s work, applied to music.
